Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, relationship-focused Account Manager to drive growth within Gordon Sinclair’s top distributor accounts. This role requires proven success managing complex accounts, the ability to execute with greater autonomy, and the skills to deepen partnerships at a higher, consultative level.
You will align with the Sales Director on strategic objectives, then carry out account plans with independence and consistency. This position is ideal for someone who understands how to translate strategy into action, build long-term distributor partnerships, and ensure Gordon Sinclair is consistently positioned as a value partner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Account Growth & Development
- Manage a portfolio of high-value distributor accounts with clear revenue growth goals.
- Execute account plans developed in collaboration with leadership, while bringing back insights to support long-term strategy.
- Identify key opportunities, programs, and high-potential reps within each account to maximize share-of-wallet.
- Consistently reinforce Gordon Sinclair’s value proposition, highlighting quality, service, and creative solutions.
2. Sales Process Execution
- Lead high-level sales conversations with distributor decision-makers and senior reps, positioning Gordon Sinclair as a strategic partner.
- Drive proactive outreach and targeted campaigns that create new opportunities, expand programs, and strengthen account penetration.
- Analyze sales trends, pipelines, and customer data to identify growth areas and bring actionable insights back to leadership.
- Deliver compelling presentations and product solutions that highlight Gordon Sinclair’s value in quality, service, and creative capabilities.
- Maintain disciplined reporting of opportunities, activity, and results through the CRM, ensuring visibility into progress against growth goals.
3. Customer Relationship Management
- Build strong, consultative relationships with distributor leaders, senior sales reps, and program teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor, positioning Gordon Sinclair as a strategic partner in their client programs.
- Provide responsive support while proactively anticipating client needs.
- Collaborate with leadership on complex opportunities or challenges.
Qualifications:
- Ability to travel for customer events, trade shows, and key account meetings (8-10x/year)
- 3–5+ years of sales or account management experience, preferably in the promotional products industry or a B2B supplier environment.
- Proven track record of growing large accounts and managing executive-level relationships.
- Strong communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
- Comfortable working independently while staying aligned with leadership direction.
- Skilled in using CRM tools to manage accounts and pipelines.
- Self-motivated, organized, and results driven.
